Terms.

How commissions, usage licences and print sales work. The short version is at the top of each item.

01 Commissions

A shoot is confirmed with a signed quote and a 30% deposit. The balance is due 14 days after delivery of finals.

02 Cancellation

Free up to 14 days before the shoot. Within 14 days the deposit is kept; within 48 hours the full day rate is due.

03 Usage licences

Pictures are licensed, not sold. The licence names the media, territory and term. Extensions can be added at any time.

04 Credit

Editorial use carries the credit ‘Photo: Ines Varrow’. Brand use does not require a credit unless agreed.

05 Prints

Editions are final once numbered. Damaged prints are replaced free of charge if reported within 7 days of delivery.

Questions people ask before booking.

Me, a first assistant, my lighting kit, tethered capture, a producer for anything over one day, and a first-pass grade on selected frames. Studio hire in Bergen is included; locations, styling and props are quoted at cost.

Yes. Around a third of the work is on location in Norway, and I take two or three commissions a year elsewhere in Europe. Travel days are charged at half rate.

By medium and term. Editorial is licensed for the issue and its digital edition. Brand work starts at two years of web and social use, with print, outdoor and paid media added as needed.

Selects the evening of the shoot, a graded gallery within five working days, and finals within ten. Rush delivery in 48 hours is possible for up to 20 frames.

Most pictures in the archive can be printed. Six are released as signed editions; for anything else, write and I will quote a size and paper.

What the pictures are for, where they will run, the rough number of frames, and one reference you love. If you can say how close we need to be, even better.
