Four mornings on the Hardangerfjord
Two of the four mornings had no light at all. Notes on waiting, weather apps that lie, and the one frame that made the story.

We drove up on a Monday with a forecast of clear mornings all week. It rained on Tuesday and Thursday.
The Wednesday frame
Documentary work at a distance needs long glass and patience in equal measure. We shot from the quay on a 135 mm and never asked the fishermen to wait for us.
The frame that opened the Kyst Journal story came at 06:52 on Wednesday, eight minutes after the sun cleared the ridge.
