What is in the bag, and what stays home

A 24 mm tilt-shift for architecture, a 50 mm for landscape, an 85 mm for people and products, and a 100 mm macro for still life. Every picture in the archive was made on one of those four.

Four lenses, four distances

I stopped carrying zooms because they made me stand in the wrong place. A fixed focal length makes you walk to the distance the picture needs.

The rest of the bag is small: a grey card, a reflector, a notebook for exposures, and spare batteries in a warm pocket.
