The brief, the light, the result
Art direction: Fjordlys in-house · Props: Tove Lie · Retouch: Ines Varrow
Fjordlys wanted their new label to feel like the orchard, not the bottling line. We kept it to one fruit per frame and one light source: the tall north window of the Bergen studio, bounced with a single sheet of black foam core to carve the shadow side.
At 0.3 m
Everything was shot on a 100 mm macro at 0.3 metres, where depth of field is a few millimetres. That is why the skin is sharp and the wood grain behind falls away within a hand’s width.
The final label uses frame 07. The rest became the autumn campaign and a set of three prints for the tasting room.
